About this tour

For individuals or small groups, self-drive touring is an excellent option. It allows you great flexibility and, with a population of only 4.5 million people, New Zealand roads are relatively free from congestion.

Our self-drive tours include a mix of hotel, motel/lodge accommodation and farm stays - absolutely the best way to interact with friendly farming families whilst enjoying comfortable accommodation and meals. You can learn about New Zealand farming and country life, see livestock and crops, enjoy time 'off the beaten track' and, for the very enthusiastic, perhaps even help lend a hand!

You can explore at your own pace and enjoy wonderful New Zealand experiences along the way - scenic flights and cruises, wineries, unique Maori cultural experiences, nature encounters such as whale watching, swimming with dolphins or bird-spotting, sports and adventure activities such as hiking or biking, golfing, fishing, kayaking, jet boating, skiing, swimming, surfing or horse riding, photography, art or cuisine... the possibilities are seemingly endless!
